Clinical Quality

The company’s focus on clinical quality,  providing demonstrably superior care to Alliance’s patients is a hallmark of its success. As a central part of Alliance’s “one-company” culture, the company’s mission, vision, and values ensures its approximately 2,500 highly dedicated team members focus their efforts on patient and customer satisfaction. Patients, referring physicians, clients, and team members are surveyed routinely, and Alliance was the first national diagnostic imaging provider to obtain the prestigious level of accreditation from The Joint Commission (or JCAHO) . Most of Alliance’s retail sites are also accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR), a 32,000-member organization whose mission is to make imaging safe, effective and accessible to those who need it. In addition, Alliance was honored with Avatar International’s Exemplary Service “Exceeding Patient Expectations” National Award for 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Accreditation by The Joint Commission

The Joint Commission was formed in 1951 to evaluate an organization’s compliance with their standards. These standards focus on improving the quality and safety of care provided by healthcare organizations. The voluntary accreditation process takes six months to complete. It involves on-site inspections, interviews, and documentation reviews to measure the quality of medical service.

Accreditation by The Joint Commission is valid for three years during which unannounced inspections may occur at any time.

Alliance Imaging was the first national provider of shared imaging services to be awarded accreditation by The Joint Commission in 1998. Regional re-accreditation took place during the spring of 2002, in the spring of 2005, and, most recently, in 2008.

The public may contact The Joint Commission’s Office to report any concerns or register complaints that the organization has not addressed, and any team member who has concerns about the safety or quality of care provided may contact the Joint Commission by either calling 800.994.6610 or emailing complaint@jointcommission.org.
